Written in November 2009 for the choir of Clare College, Cambridge and first performed by them under Tim Brown at St John’s, Smith Square, London on 16th December, 2009. A setting of lines from De rerum natura by Lucretius (95-55 BCE) which celebrate the wonders of a continually evolving world – a century before the dawn of Christianity, and nineteen centuries before Darwin published The Origin of Species.
